This is one of my favorite childhood treats Marshmallow Rice Crispy Brownies, that I’ve adapted to be sourdough! These brownies and gooey, crunchy, chocolatey, and full of good memories! With a sourdough brownie base, a gooey marshmallow center, and crunchy Rice Crispy topping, there’s something in this brownie for everyone. Simple to make and delicious to eat Marshmallow Rice Crispy Brownies, I think this may just become a new favorite!

Getting Started

Step 1. Add butter, oil, chocolate chips, cocoa and salt to a small sauce pan and melt until combined. Then add sourdough starter.

Step 2. In a separate bowl, add eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, water and vanilla. Mix until combined. Then add the liquid in the sauce pan to this mixture.

Step 3. Grease a brownie pan (9×13), and add batter to pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 mins.

Step 4. Put marshmallows over top brownies and place back in oven until marshmallows have melted, then remove from the oven.

Step 5. In a medium sauce pan, add butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Stir over low/ medium heat until melted, then add the Rice Crispy cereal.

Step 6. Pour Rice Crispy gently over the top of the marshmallows. Allow to cool andenjoy Marshmallow Rice Crispy Brownies!

Brownie Ingredients

On The Stove

  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Chip
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Sourdough Starter Discard

On the Countertop

  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 4 Tbsp Water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Brownie Topping Ingredients

  • 5 Cup Miniature Marshmallows
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/4 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 3 Cup Rice Crispy Cereal

Instructions
